It is almost kind of synonymous with Lonavala and Khandala. First of all, the accessibility is super. It is a short drive from the capital city of Mumbai and Pune. These twin hill stations are known for their lush green valleys, cascading waterfalls, and misty mountains, making them perfect retreats during the rainy season. Adventure seekers can trek to scenic viewpoints like waterfalls at Tiger Point, Lonavala Falls, Rajmachi Fort, and other games at Della Adventures.

I got a chance to stay with my family at Manas Resort Igatpuri that was close to the hills and railway track and the views surrounding the resort were simply beyond words could express. The fog, the mist is not just till the early morning hours, but it lingers even in noon – creating a mesmerizing experience to soak in. You will actually feel you are on the clouds.  

Bhandadara

Another popular place to visit during the monsoon season is close to Igatpuri – Bhandadara. 

It is a serene town set amidst the Sahyadri Range in the Western Ghats. It is one of the popular places to explore during the rainy season. The town is known for its remote location and as a stopover while traveling to Shirdi. The main attractions of this town are Randha Falls, Arthur Lake, Kalsubai Peak, and Ratangad Fort. Kolad

Kolad – on the Mumbai-Goa Highway, is a charming little place close to the capital city.
